NEW HAVEN — This past Sunday, several employees, dignitaries and local citizens gathered at the Felman Production Plant to celebrate the company’s 60th Anniversary.

In addition to refreshments, door prizes and a performance from the band Taylor Made, it was reported this celebration was intended to not only recognize how long this company has been in business, but to acknowledge the impact the Felman plant has had not only on the community but the state of West Virginia.

“We are incredibly proud of the plant and our hard-working, dedicated employees for their many contributions to our company and the local community,” said Mordechai Korf, Chairman of Felman Production. “The Felman Plant has a long, rich history, and we are pleased with the great progress we have made since we took over operations in 2006. In this short period of time we have been able to increase production and add jobs to the community. Our dedicated workforce is directly responsible for our success thus far. Together we have positioned the Felman Production Plant for continued success over the long term.”

Dignitaries attending and speaking at the event also included Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) and Congressman Bill Johnson (R-OH). It was also reported that Governor Earl Ray Tomblin had issued a proclamation recognizing the plant’s history, its contributions to the local economy, and its efforts for continued success in the years to come.

As previously reported, this company produces ferroalloys, specifically a product known as silicomanganese. It was reported that silicomanganese is a steel deoxidizer and alloy additive. It was reported that this product helps create a more pure steel. It was also reported this plant is one of only two facilities in the United States that produces this product.
