Felman Production, LLC celebrating 60th anniversary

LETART — Whether its a wedding anniversary or an anniversary of a business beginning, a celebration in is order and one local company recently reached one of many milestones.

First coming together in 1952, Felman Production, LLC is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a free community event beginning at noon on Sunday, July 22, on the plant property, located on Graham Station Road. The celebration will include food, activities for children and a concert by the band Taylor Made, as well as several door prizes. The celebration will continue until 5 p.m.

It was also reported a brief celebratory ceremony will begin around 2 p.m., and confirmed dignitaries attending will include Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Congressman Bill Johnson (R-OH), and West Virginia Secretary of Commerce Keith Burdette.

For those who excelled in Chemistry in school, the products of this company may be a familiar item. This company produces ferroalloys, specifically a product known as ferrosilicomanganese. It was reported that ferrosilicomanganese is a steel deoxidizer and alloy additive. It was reported that this product helps create a more pure steel.

The facility is located along the Ohio River, approximately 60 miles northwest of Charleston and 40 miles south of Parkersburg, which allows the facility to be accessed from various modes of transportation, including trains, boats and land vehicles. It was also reported the plant has its own barge facility and internal rail system.
