Arrests
The Mason County Detachment of the West Virginia State Police reports the following arrest: Jeffrey A. Mayes, 43, Lesage, brandishing, domestic battery, domestic assault, arrested by Cpl. B.L. Keefer, transported to Western Regional Jail, bond set at $15,000.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Department reports the following arrest: Nessel E. Dalton, 50, Point Pleasant, domestic battery, arrested by Greene.
Sobriety checkpoint
The W.Va. State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint starting at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15 on U.S. 35 near Henderson. The purpose of the checkpoint will be the detection and apprehension of suspected drunken drivers as well as the enforcement of the traffic laws of the state of West Virginia. The checkpoint will last until 2 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 16.
