Richard “Rich” Nibert, 81, of Gallipolis Ferry, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at his home. He was born April 30, 1931, in Mason County, a son to the late William F. and Goldie Ann Eads Nibert. He was a retired tac welder from A.C.F. in Huntington, after 35 years of service. He was an U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant, and attended the Mount Carmel Church, Gallipolis Ferry.
Preceded in death besides his parents, are one granddaughter, Lisa Nibert; sisters, Edna Nibert, Sarah Kathleen Martin; and brothers, Leslie Nibert, Willard Nibert and Joseph Nibert.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Jo Nibert; one son, Denny Nibert of Gallipolis Ferry; daughter, Shelia and (Punkin) Saxton of Gallipolis Ferry; grandchildren, Denny Nibert Jr., Mellissa Nibert Taynor, Jarrod O’Dell; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home, with Pastor Joann Hicks officiating, Burial will be in the Beale Chapel Cemetery, Apple Grove. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., on Monday, July 16, 2012, at the funeral home.
