Arrest
The Mason County Sheriff’s Department reports the following arrest: Christopher M. VanMeter, 34, New Haven, burglary, arrested by M. Terry and Peterson.
Sobriety checkpoint
The Mason County Detachment of the West Virginia State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint starting at 8 p.m., Friday, June 29 on U.S. 35 near the community of Henderson. The purpose of the checkpoint will be the detection and apprehension of suspected drunken drivers, as well as the enforcement of traffic laws of the state of West Virginia. The checkpoint will wrap up around 2 a.m., Saturday, June 30 and will last around six hours.
