Roger A. Deal Sr., 66, of Apple Grove, died June 20, 2012, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born on March 15, 1946, in Mason County, a son to the late William Deal and Eliza Tagg Deal. He was a laborer.

He is preceded in death besides his parents, by sister, Lorna Plumley; two brothers, Paul Deal and Russell Deal; and former wife, Irene Richardson Edwards.

He is survived by his son, Roger (Tammi) Deal Jr. of Cattletsburg, Ky.; grandson, Roger Deal III also of Cattletsburg, Ky.; brothers and sisters, Emmett Eugene Deal of Glenwood, William Deal of Scottown, Ohio, Helen Gay (Kenneth) Mayes of Gallipolis Ferry, April (Roger) Adkins of Sissonville, Ohio, Mary (Joe) Mayes of of Glenwood, Pam (Robert) Ford of Castle Berry, Fla. and Cordelia (Bill) Pritchard of Big Creek; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Frank Donnelly officiating. Burial will follow in Apple Grove Memorial Gardens in Apple Grove. Friends may visit the family from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
