West Virginia State Police

The Mason County Detachment of the West Virginia State Police reports the following accidents: On June 1, an accident occurred at the intersection of Cliff Rd. and Mason St. in Clifton when a 2008 Ford Fusion driven by Atishia D. Reitmire, 39, Mason, allegedly collided with a Ford F-350 pickup driven by Daniel L. Marr, Jr., 33, Mason. Reitmire was cited for failure to yield at an intersection and failure to obtain West Virginia operator’s license. There were no injuries. Investigated by Cpl. K.M. Gilley.

On June 5 on W.Va. 2 in the Ashton area, a single-vehicle accident occurred when Rodger F. Clark, 74, Hurricane, attempted to pass a semi-truck in his 1998 Ford Ranger. While passing the semi, the report says Clark allegedly lost control of the vehicle, hit a pole and went over an embankment. The Ranger was towed and Clark was checked by personnel with Mason County EMS for injuries. Trooper T.V. Hughes is investigating.
