Ramona Jean Fowler, 96, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 6, with her daughter, Sandra, at her side at the Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center in Pomeroy, Ohio. She was born January 29, 1916, in Salem Community in Mason County and was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas Roach and Flossie Jean (Edwards) Roach. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also was a retired employee of the former Kings Laundromat of Mason, and a 1933 graduate of Wahama High School, where she was valedictorian of her class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Okey Donly Fowler; brothers, Carl, Raymond and Richard Roach.
She survived by sons, Stephen Fowler of West Columbia and Jeffery (Barbara) Fowler of Polo, Miss.; daughters, Sandra Fowler of Pomeroy, Ohio, Janice (Earl) Saunders of New Lexington, Ohio, and Kathyrn (Lew) King, of Hartford; grandchildren, Ramona King of Hartford, Nancy King-Badran of Hartford and Jennifer Covington of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Adam Badran of Hartford, Scarlett and Julian Fleming-Wellworth of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law, Lucille Fowler of Point Pleasant; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, in the Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant, under the direction of the Foglesong-Roush Funeral Home in Mason. Officiating will be Rev. Jack Mays and pallbearers will be Earl Saunders, Ralph Russell, Errol Russell, Joe Russell and Henry Allan Lewis.
She will be missed by her family and friends whose lives she touched.
