The Mason County Sheriff’s Department reports the following arrests: Luberta Cummings, 58, Leon, domestic battery, battery, investigated by Powell. Zachary L. Arms, 23, Pomeroy, Ohio, unlawful wounding, brandishing a dangerous weapon, investigated by Rice.
Candidate filings
The following recent candidates have filed for local offices according to the office of Mason County Clerk Diana Cromley: Mason County School Board, Jimmy Davis of Point Pleasant, Marty Reed of Point Pleasant. Mason County Sheriff, David L. Anthony, II (D-Point Pleasant).
Candidate filing deadline
The filing period for the May 8 primary election ends at midnight, Jan. 28. Mason County Clerk Diana Cromley’s office will not be open on Saturday, Jan. 28 to accept filings but will accept filings through the mail that are postmarked by the Jan. 28 deadline. The Mason County Clerk’s Office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27 to assist those withing to file in person at the Mason County Courthouse.
