Wilma Jean Stevens Burris, 87, of Wellston, Ohio, entered into her eternal rest on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 from her residence. She was born on June 9, 1924 in Wellston, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Effie Hunter Stevens. Wilma was a 1942 graduate of Wellston High School. She was a former employee of the Pants Factory in Wellston, Ohio for 27 years and she formerly attended the First Baptist Church in Wellston, Ohio. Wilma will be greatly missed because she was so very greatly loved.
She is survived by her loving family, daughters and a son-in-law, Pattie and Butch Greenlee of Point Pleasant, and Debbie Via of Wellston, Ohio; sister, Betty Edwards of Grove City, Ohio; grandchildren, Jason and Heather Hagen Via of Jackson, Ohio, Greg and Tary Rhea Powers of Point Pleasant, Sandy Rhea Epling and Dean and Kathi Rhea Richards, all of South Charleston, and Brian Greenlee of Sutton; great-grandchildren, Alex Via of Columbus, Ohio, Stacy Jones of Winfield, Cody Richards of Redlands, Calif., Morgan Richards of South Charleston, Jaden and Jonathon Rhea of Point Pleasant, Brianna and Ian Greenlee of Sutton, and Taylor and Payton Rippeth of Jackson, Ohio; great-great granddaughter, Sydnee Adkins of Winfield, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Wilma was preceded to Heaven by her husband of 62 years, Leonard “Jack” Burris; grandson, Ronald Dean Rhea, Jr.; son-in-law, Wilbur Via; sisters, Lucille Johnson, Katherine Jones, Evelyn Nichols and Mildred Radcliffe; and brothers, Jim, Bill, Harold and John Stevens. Calling hours will be from 3-8 p.m. on Monday at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston, Ohio. Celebration of life services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev.
