Mark A. “Tony” Gardner, 36, of Point Pleasant passed away at his father’s home in Gallipolis Ferry on Oct. 8, 2011.

He was born August 18, 1975 in Mason County, a son to Johnny Gardner and Geneva Hurlow Gardner.

In the past, he had served as Point Pleasant Volunteer Fireman. He worked for the city of Point Pleasant and at Scenic Hills Nursing and Rehab in Bidwell, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin N. Gardner; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs Roy Hurlow; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs Frank Gardner.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie Gardner; two children from a previous marriage, Mykael and Markeya Gardner of Bidwell, Ohio; a step-son, Charles Neal, II; his mother, Geneva “Cookley” Gardner, of Point Pleasant; father, Johnny (Diana) Gardner, of Gallipolis Ferry; brother, David (Lurinda) Gardner, of Glenwood; nephew, Bently of Glenwood; special sister-in-law, Judy Meek; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Deal Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Bonecutter officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Flatrock. Friends may call two hours before the service at the funeral home.
