In Mason County, polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Mason County Clerk Diana Cromley said votes will start being counted at 7:30 p.m. and 1,019 Mason County voters had already cast their votes during the early voting period - these votes will be counted on Tuesday night with the others cast today during the state’s special election. There are an estimated 18,500 registered voters in the county.
The two front runners in the race are acting Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin (D-Charleston) and Bill Malony (R-Morgantown), though they are certainly not alone. Also on the ballot are: Bob Baber of Glenville and the Mountain Party; Harry Bertram of Maidsville and the American Third Position Party and Mason County’s own, Marla Ingels of New Haven, running as an Independent.
