Mason County woman pleads guilty

GALLIPOLIS — A West Virginia woman is ordered to serve three prison sentences after pleading guilty to four felony charges in two separate court cases.

Jamie Lee Belville, 20, of Gallipolis Ferry, entered plea changes into the Gallia County Common Pleas Court last week in regards to two separate indictments.

Belville was first indicted in August 2007 for possession of drugs, receiving stolen property and forgery.

According to court records she obtained, possessed or used .05 of a gram of Oxycodone; received, retained or disposed of a personal check belonging to Jodie Fields knowing or having reasonable cause to believe the check had been obtained through a theft offense; and with the purpose to defraud, knowingly utter or possess to utter the personal check in the amount of $200.

After pleading guilty in court last Thursday, Belville was sentenced to 12 months incarceration for each of the first two counts of the indictment, possession of drugs and receiving stolen property, to be served consecutively.The third count of forgery was dismissed as per her plea agreement.

In the second case against her, Belville was again indicted on three felony counts, though this time the charges were for burglary, theft and forgery.

According to court records, she trespassed in an occupied structure, the residence of Mike Daines, Crown City; received retained or disposed of a personal check belonging to Deborah Belville knowing or having reasonable cause to believe the check had been obtained through a theft offense; and with the purpose to defraud, knowingly utter or possess to utter the personal check.

Belville was sentenced to 24 months of community control for the charge of burglary and to 12 months incarceration for the charge of theft to be served concurrently with the previously mentioned sentences. As part of the plea agreement the charge of forgery was again dismissed.

Other cases recently resolved include:

David A. Stapleton, 32, 13540 Ohio 7 South, was sentenced to two years of community control after pleading guilty to disrupting public service last month in connection with the theft of telephone wire from Bladen Road in July of 2007.

As per his plea agreement, count two of the indictment, possession of criminal tools was dropped, and Stapleton was ordered to have no contact with AT&T and to pay the company restitution in the amount of $1,126.74.
