Lonnie S. Trivette, 90, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, Aug. 27 in Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born March 15, 1921 in Virgie, Ky., a son to the late George C. and Elvira Vanover Trivette. He retired from Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. and was a manager of the Moose Club Local 731 of Point Pleasant. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and landed on Utah Beach during the Normandy Invasion in 1944 and received the Purple Heart for wounds received later in the war. He was also a member of the VFW, Life Liberty and Freedom, a Kentucky Colonel, and Disabled American Veterans, and American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Dale Trivette in 2008. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Mary Sue and Charles Paese; granddaughter, Stephanie A. Paese Shank and her huband, Rick; daughter-in-law, Deborah Trivette, of Logan; brother Goble, of Pikeville, Ky.,; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Military Graveside service will be conduced at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Northeast Greenup County, Ky. on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Marshall Bonecutter officiating. Friends my call at the Deal Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 31 from 10-10:45 a.m.
