This marks the 20th year for the tournament, hosted by Fruth Pharmacy. The event is slated for 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 at the Greenhills Country Club in Ravenswood. Sign-in for the event will take place at 8:30 a.m.
According to Lynne Fruth, president and chairman of the Fruth Board, the event raises benefits the Fruth Scholarship Program by raising money for college scholarships. The program also offers two Pharmacy scholarships at Ohio State University.
“We give away over 20 college scholarships every year,” Fruth said.
Fruth added that this year’s golf tournament will be extra special as President Welch of University of Charleston and President Kopp of Marshall University will participate. According to Fruth, by competing in the tournament, Welch and Kopp will join deans from five regional pharmacy colleges. In addition, several Fruth Scholars will be in attendance.
According to Fruth, 174 golfers are expected to compete. Along with golf, food will be provided throughout the day. Breakfast will take place at 8 a.m. and lunch will be delivered to participants on the course. Dinner will take place in the clubhouse following the event.
