To help ensure that the pool would open for another summer of splish’ splashin’ fun, several New Haven residents formed a pool committee a few months ago. Committee members even spoke with and were granted money to help operate the pool from the Mason County Commission.
Through hard work, the committee was able to save the pool, which officially opened to the public in June. Currently, the pool’s hours are noon-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Pool admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students, while children ages three and under can swim for free. All children ages five and under also must be accompanied by either a parent or guardian in order to enter the pool facility.
In addition to regular swim hours, the pool will offer swimming lessons starting Tuesday, July 5. The morning class will take place at 11 a.m., while the evening class is scheduled for 5 p.m. Classes will run for one hour, and cost $30 per child. To pre-register for swimming lessons, call the pool at 304-882-3651.
The pool also is available for rent in the evenings. To reserve a time, call the pool.
