Pretty Baby Contest set for Saturday, proceeds to benefit Relay for Life

POINT PLEASANT — As another effort to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the First Annual Little Mr. & Miss Make a Difference/Pretty Baby Contest will take place this Saturday.

The contest will be held at the Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High School Athletic Complex prior to the start of the Mason County Relay for Life event. The pageant is slated to start at 3:30 p.m. with registration scheduled to run from 2:30-3 p.m.

Age categories for the pageant are as follows: Tiny Mr. & Miss Make a Difference, 0-12 months; Wee Little Mr. & Miss Make a Difference, 13 months-2 years; Little Mr. & Miss Make a Difference, 3-5 years; Young Miss Make a Difference, 6-8 years; and Miss Make a Difference, 9-12 years.

All contestants are asked to wear casual clothing for the event. Pageant dresses and/or attire are not allowed.

At the conclusion of the event, each girl contestant will be crowned a princess, while all boy participants will be awarded medals as named princes. Event winners will receive a variety of prizes. First place winners will receive a crown, sash and free portrait and sitting, compliments of Putney Photography. First and second runner-up winners also will receive a crown and sash. A special “I Make a Difference” award will be presented to the contestant who collects and donates the most money for the Relay for Life. The “I Make a Difference” winner also will get to help release a white dove during the relay’s opening ceremony.
