POINT PLEASANT — The Mason County grand jury met Monday for the first time in 2009 and indicted 22 people on various charges.
Those indictments included a Glenwood woman who allegedly attempted to kill her boyfriend in a vehicle accident and six people who were arrested in different drug stings.

In August, Joshua Cremeans was driving his car north on W.Va. 2 when his vehicle allegedly was struck from behind, which caused him to overturn, ejecting him from the car several feet. He was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to the hospital by helicopter. The driver of the vehicle that struck him fled the scene.
An investigation by the Mason County Sheriff’s Department showed that Powers allegedly was driving the vehicle that struck Cremeans. She was arrested Oct. 13 at her place of employment in Cabell County by Cpl. C.K. Zerkle with the Mason County Detachment of the West Virginia State Police.
Also in October, six people were taken into custody for possession of heroin.

In the early morning hours of Oct. 22, deputies found about $2,000 worth of heroin during a raid at a home on Lincoln Avenue in Point Pleasant. The Mason County Sheriff’s Department had been conducting a 22-hour, non-stop investigation that led to the arrests.
Jackson remains in the Western Regional Jail. Also arrested in the raid were Brittani Nicole Roush, 19, of Henderson, and Catherine Lee Browning, 18, of Point Pleasant.
Officers with the Point Pleasant Police Department assisted in the search as part of a joint operation between the two departments.
The next day, three more were arrested on the same charges. Twyshawn Lamar Justice, 24, of Dayton and brother of Torell Justice, was indicted on three counts of delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and conspiracy, as were Moneka Michelle Minnis, 25, of Point Pleasant, and Jarron Yamonia Tabor (aka Jarron Yumonia Earley), 31, of Murray, Ky., and Dayton. Tabor also was indicted on a charge of a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
The arrests were made Oct. 23 when officers found more than $15,000 of drugs that included approximately 18 grams of heroin, 47 grams of crack cocaine and 7 grams of marijuana along with $1,068 in cash and three handguns.
