She was born on November 13, 1947 in Williamson, the daughter of Hazel (Scott) Donohoe and the late Harry Bell. Bobbie was named from a WWII bomber, “The Bobbie Anne of Texas”, on which her father was the tail gunner.
She was a graduate from Williamson High School in 1965. In 1967, Bobbie was married to Tom Dotson of Williamson at the First Baptist Church, where she was a member.
She began a secretarial career at Marshall University in the Athletic Department in 1967, and was secretary to the Vice President of Academic Affairs at MU in 1971. She took time from her career to raise their daughter Tomi, then moved with Tom to make their home in Point Pleasant. Bobbie continued her career as secretary to the Prosecuting Attorney of Mason County for 25 years, from which she retired in 2008, due to illness.
Bobbie was an avid golfer, enjoyed showing her English cocker spaniels, Bogey and Kate and was an accomplished quilter.
She is survived by her mother, Hazel; husband, Tom; daughter, Tomi; granddaughter, Bailey; sister, Judy; and brother, Chuck; in addition to a number of other loving family members.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, March 12, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
