Hugh H. Collins, PVH’s most recent CEO, is no longer employed at the hospital, according to PVH officials. Collins started work as PVH’s CEO on Oct. 4, 2010. While PVH did confirm that Collins is no longer an employee, reasons regarding his departure were not released.
“The PVH Board has no comment other than Hugh Collins is no longer CEO,” Amy Leach, PVH director of marketing and public relations, said.
At this time, Tom Schauer is serving as the hospital’s interim CEO.
Collins replaced former PVH CEO Al Lawson. Prior to accepting the PVH CEO position, Collins served as chief executive officer, chief financial officer and an executive vice-president of operations within several healthcare systems. Collins’ past job experiences in the healthcare field included work in small community hospitals, rural healthcare systems, large tertiary teaching medical centers and physician practice management companies.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from East Tennessee State University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Widener University. Collins also completed an administrative residency with a community hospital managed by the Hospital Corporation of America as well as an administrative fellowship with The Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.
