She was born Feb. 1, 1941 in Point Pleasant, a daughter of Ina R. (Absten) and Sheldon Beauford Hill.
On May 29, 1958, in Roswell, N.M., she was married to the late Charlie Lee Scott, who preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1974.
Betty Jo was a member of the Refuge Worship Center. She enjoyed crocheting hats for preemie babies and had a beautiful flower garden. Roses were her specialty. She loved her grandchildren so much. Betty also worked for Ball Corporation before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Aneita Kay Mayo.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Kay North of Westfield, Ind., and Ruth Ann Russo and her husband, Joe of Logansport, Ind.; one son, Blain Scott of Loganspor, Ind.; three grandchildren, Joseph Mikel Russo, Nicole Ann Russo, and Kayla Lynn Scott; one great-grandchild, Jayden Rae; one brother, Sheldon Beauford Hill Jr. of Point Pleasant; one sister, Mary Jean Ross of Point Pleasant; one half-brother, Patrick; and three half-sisters, Patricia, Ella and Mary Charlene.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Fisher Funeral Chapel on Feb. 11 with Brother David Payton officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport, Ind. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley Children’s Hospital and the Refuge Worship Center.
