Gifts await county’s first baby

POINT PLEASANT — The first baby born in Mason County in 2009 will be eligible to receive an abundance of gifts from local businesses and organizations.

Gifts include a $50 savings bond from Peoples Bank; two cases of baby formula from Pleasant Valley Hospital; an Oneida fork, knife and spoon set from Siders Jewelers; a $10 gift certificate from Fruth Pharmacy; a $50 savings account from Ohio Valley Bank; a $50 savings bond from Farmers Bank;

A $50 savings bond from City National Bank; a $10 gift certificate from Mason County Insurance; a case of baby food from Twin Rivers Foodland; a $10 gift certificate from Health Aid Pharmacy; a free oil change from Poor Boys Tires Inc.; and free membership to a savings account at Twin Oaks Federal Credit Union.

Parents of babies born after midnight Dec. 31 are asked to send their names, address and physician’s report to the Point Pleasant Register no later than Jan. 30.

The winning baby must be born in Mason County and be the son or daughter of parents who are legal residents of Mason County. All babies surviving at the deadline are eligible, and the exact time of birth must be in a written statement by an attending physician.

Applications must be filed at the Register office by Jan. 30. In case of a tie, awards will be distributed by the contest committee. Gifts must be claimed by Feb. 6.
