Spreading (and delivering) the love

Love was “in bloom,” literally, on Tuesday as sweethearts flocked to Four Seasons Florist on Main Street in Point Pleasant, to made sure their special someone wasn’t forgotten on Valentine’s Day. Owner Elizabeth Jones said around 1,500 roses were ordered for the special day with all of them expected to be gone by the close of business. In addition, Jones guessed the number of deliveries on Tuesday were in the hundreds - with drivers going everywhere from Leon, to Point Pleasant, to Gallia County, Ohio. Jones gets ready for the big day with help from her employees and friends who chip in to make arrangements and deliveries. Here, one of Jones’ army of flowers arrangers, pulls ribbon from the wall as roses wait to be picked up from customers. Along with Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day are two of the busiest holidays for flower shops.
