JACKSON, Ohio — The Meigs girls track team took second, while the boys team finished third at Thursday night’s Jackson Invitational.
The girls team competition was won by Waverly with a score of 163, followed by the Lady Marauders with a 117 and the host Ironladies with a 111. Nine teams competed in the girls competition.
The Meigs 4x100m relay team of Cassidy Atkinson, Taylor Swartz, Keira McCourt and Sky Brown took first with a time of 55.6, while the MHS 4x800m (12:18), 4x400m (5:06) and 4x200m (2:12.26) relay teams each took third.
Lady Marauders freshman Kassidy Betzing was first in the long jump (16-3.5), and third in the high jump (4-6), while Swartz was second in each the 200m dash (28.3), 100m dash (13.55) and the long jump (14-9.75).
Atkinson claimed second in the 100m hurdles (20.01), Lydia Edwards was third in the 300m hurdles (57.25), while Caitlyn Rest took third in the 800m run (2:47.06).
Waverly also won the boys team title with a 152, followed by Jackson with a 102 and Meigs with a 98. Nine teams competed in the boys competition.
The Marauders claimed second in each the 4x800m relay (9:25.4), 4x400m relay (3:58), 4x200m relay (1:39.33) and the 4x100m relay (47.5).
MHS sophomore Bailey Caruthers was first in the high jump (5-10) and second in the 110m hurdles (18.13), while Jared Kennedy won the 300m hurdles with a time of 44.7.
Nick Combs was second in the shot put (45-5.5), Nate Hoover finished third in the 400m dash (53.8), while Devon Hawley claimed third in the high jump (5-8).
