A total of a 13 people from the Ohio Valley Publishing area were chosen to the 2017 All-Tri-Valley Conference golf teams, as voted on by the coaches within the TVC Ohio and TVC Hocking divisions.

In the Hocking Division, seven local golfers were chosen to the all-league team, with the player and coach of the year awards going to league champion Southern. In the Ohio Division, four golfers represented the area, with league champion Meigs earning both special awards.

Southern — which finished with a 37-3 record, in the nine-team Hocking Division — was represented by senior Jonah Hoback, as well as juniors Jensen Anderson and Jarrett Hupp.

Anderson, making his third straight all-league squad, was named Hocking Division Most Valuable Player. Hupp and Hoback are both on the list for a second time, with Hupp as an all-league performer last fall and Hoback making it in 2015.

Sixth-year Tornadoes head coach Jeff Caldwell earned the Hocking Division Coach of the Year award, after sharing the honor last year.

Eastern — which finished third with a 32-8 record — was represented by juniors Ryan Harbour and Jasiah Brewer. This is Harbour’s third straight appearence on the all-league squad. Brewer is on the list for a second time in his career, having also made it as a freshman.

Wahama — which placed sixth with a 18-22 record — had just one representative, in senior Anthony Ortiz, who was also on the all-league list last year.

South Gallia — the seventh place team with a 9-31 mark — also earned just one spot on the list, with senior Curtis Haner picking up his third straight all-league honor.

In the Ohio Division, Meigs — sporting a perfect 42-0 record — was represented by seniors Levi Chapman and Bryce Swatzel, as well as junior Wyatt Nicholson.

Chapman is on the all-league squad for the third year in a row and was named Ohio Division Most Valuable Player for the second straight season. Nicholson is a repeat selection to the team, while Swatzel is on the list for the first time.

For the second straight year, Marauders head coach Tom Cremeans was named Ohio Division Coach of the Year, completing his ninth season at the helm of the Maroon and Gold.

River Valley — this sixth place team, posting a 7-35 record — was represented by junior Aaron Burke, who is on the all-league selection for the first time.
