POINT PLEASANT — The Point Pleasant High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee has released the names of 11 former athletes, coaches and boosters who make up the eighth class to be inducted the weekend of September 26-27.The new inductees will be presented prior to the start of the PPHS vs. Gallia Academy football game next Friday evening. The official induction ceremony will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Point Pleasant High School Commons area. The event is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant River Museum and Learning Center and Farmers bank.This year’s class of inductees are as follows:

MASON, W.Va. — Make it five in a row.The Southern volleyball team won its fifth straight match Thursday night, knocking off Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division host Wahama in four games.The Lady Tornadoes (7-3, 5-3) started strong, winning the first game 25-13 and the second game 25-12. NEW HAVEN — The streets of New Haven will soon be filled with the beats of running feet, as the Sixth Annual Wahama Scholarship Walk/Run takes place Saturday, Oct. 18.Set to begin at 8 a.m. at the New Haven Fire Station, the run has raised a little over $30,000 since its inception.
