POINT PLEASANT—The sixth annual Point Pleasant River Museum Car and Bike Show will entertain locals and visitors alike this weekend.On Saturday, the car and bike show will begin at noon, across from Tu-Endie-Wei State Park on 28 Main St. in Point Pleasant. Registration opens at 9 a.m. and there is a $10 entry fee.Ruth Fout, the museum’s administrative assistant, has been involved in coordinating the event every year and said this yearly benefit for the museum works to bring the community together.

POINT PLEASANT — A recovery home planned for Mason County and managed by Prestera was a topic of conversation at this week’s meeting of Point Pleasant City Council.According to multiple sources, Prestera has identified a home on Main Street as a possible location. This home is said to be located near the Presbyterian Church.
POINT PLEASANT — This week, when the American Queen docked for a visit, 330 people (four tour buses) departed the boat for a tour around Point Pleasant and Mason County.This, according to Denny Bellamy, director of the Mason County Convention and Visitors Bureau. MASON, W.Va. — The young golfers of the Frank Capehart Tri Count Golf league have been Blessed with excellent weather once again. The 4th stop on this years tour was played Monday, July 7, at the Riverside Golf Course in Mason, West Virginia. Sunshine and blue skies prevailed and there was a refreshing breeze that kept the golfers cool. The golf course was in fine condition and played fast and firm.
RIO GRANDE — The University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College has announced the hire of Dean Crawford as recruitment and retention specialist.The newly formed position is designed to increase student engagement and persistence throughout their entire Rio Grande experience. The position reports to the dean of enrollment management and will provide a retention focus to all planning, coordination and implementation of recruitment and enrollment initiatives.
