On Saturday, numerous spectators gathered at the New Haven Fire Station for New Haven’s Oktoberfest 2012. Among the activities were the New Haven Road Angels car show, a three-on-three basketball tournament, a cornhole tournament, a watermelon seed spitting contest, musical entertainment, a bounce house, numerous rounds of a cake walk, a 5k walk/run, a visit from Smokey the Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog, as well as a pumpkin decorating contest and a chili cook-off. Pictured are a pair of New Haven youngsters picking out the perfect color for their pumpkin and some of the adults getting their samples of chili from the various entries.
