Many local children are slowly winding down from the excitement of the Mason County Fair and looking for one last hurrah before gearing up for the first day of school on Monday, Aug. 20. On Tuesday evening around 45 children, along with several other family members, attended the Town of New Haven’s “End of Summer, Back to School Block Party” at the New Haven Fire Department. In addition to enjoying pizza and other refreshments, children got a chance to dance to party classics such as “The Cha-Cha Slide” and “YMCA,” as well as ride their bikes and play in the streets. Children were also able to receive some much needed school supplies. It was reported the Town of New Haven normally holds a block party at the beginning and the end of summer as a way to keep local activities going as well as giving children something fun to do.
