POINT PLEASANT — Eight local yards and one business were recently recognized by the Tu-Endie-Wei Garden club as a “Yard of the Month” and the “Business in Bloom” for the month of July.
Winning “Yard of the Month” in ward one was Tom and Janice Vance at 12 Main Street. Winning in ward two was Katie Lambert at 1214 Colonial Lane, North. Winning in ward three was Morgan J. Bragg at 1606 Jefferson Blvd. Winning in ward four was Michael Morning at 2102 Mason Blvd. Winning in ward five was Bobby and Tess Veith at 2619 Lincoln Avenue. Winning in ward six was Johnnie Wamsley at 119 South Park Drive. Winning in ward seven was Gertrude Holland at 502 29th Street. Winning in ward eight was William Mallette at 1403 Elm Street. Winning “Business in Bloom” was the Point Pleasant Housing Authority at 404 2nd Street.
It was reported the winner from each ward are entered into a drawing, and that one winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Bob’s Market from the Tu-Endie-Wei Garden Club. The winner of the gift certificate for the month of July was Morgan J. Bragg from ward three.
The next judging for “Yard of the Month” and “Business in Bloom” will be held the last week in July. Concerning judging criteria, the only reported guideline is that artificial plants or flowers will disqualify the yard or business.
