McCallister trial

Jury selection for the trial of Chad W. McCallister, 31, Apple Grove, began on Tuesday and will continue through at least Thursday. If the jury is filled, it’s possible the actual trial could begin later in the day on Thursday but that is dependant on finding jurors both the state and defense can agree upon. On Thursday morning, 20 new potential jurors were summoned to Mason County Circuit Court to be screened. It’s believed the high profile nature of the case and pre-trial publicity has made it more difficult to find jurors in Mason County who are unfamiliar with the case.

The Mason County Detachment of the West Virginia State Police reports the following arrests: Louis P. Sammarco, 50, Fraziers Bottom, bail piece of wanton endangerment, transported to Western Regional Jail, arrested by TFC A.B.Ward. Marvin R.
