The Riverfront Park was a sea of purple and white on Saturday as a crowd of around 200 people gathered to participate in the area’s first ever “Courage Walk” to raise epilepsy awareness. Doug Simmons, with the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Cincinnati and Columbus, attended the event and said he was very impressed with the turnout; a turnout which surpassed an awareness event he had attended in a larger city earlier in the day. Pictured are those who walked the three mile course returning to the park just prior to Ezekiel Ross, left, and Mark Kincaid, right, members of local 4-H clubs, drawing winners for door prizes. Ross and Kincaid helped organize teams for the awareness walk.
