Utility crews from across the country, including places like Kansas and Missouri, descended upon Mason County after the massive power outage caused by the storm of two weeks ago. Several of these workers set up a staging area here at the Point Pleasant boat dock. According to an official with Appalachian Electric Power, workers staging at the boat dock were slated to begin departing the area on Thursday as well as Friday. Most Mason County residents have had their power restored, though some only as recently as in the last few days.
