MASON COUNTY — Two people have recently been arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Department for two separate incidents both allegedly involving the manufacture of meth.
The most recent incident happened on Wednesday, May 23, when Donald T. Henry, 30, Gallipolis Ferry, was arrested and charged with operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab. Henry appeared before Magistrate Cheryl Miller Ross who set his bond at $100,000. As of press time, he was being housed in the Western Regional Jail.
Henry was taken into custody after Deputy J. R. Gilley responded to Henry’s residence on 895 Hoover Rd. in reference to a possible meth lab based upon the sheriff’s department receiving several tips, according to the criminal complaint. After detecting a “very strong chemical odor coming from the camper,” Gilley approached the residence and spoke with Henry, again according to the complaint.
Gilley then said he observed, in plain view, a 20-ounce soda bottle with a rubber tube exiting from the top and a white powdery substance in the bottle. The complaint says Henry consented to a search of the residence with Gilley then calling Lt. Steven Greene of the sheriff’s department who is a certified meth technician. Greene observed an active gas generator, an active shake and bake lab, liquid drain cleaner, coffee filter with residue, a burned box of Claritin-D, Coleman fuel and lithium batteries cut open, according to the complaint.
Last week, deputies with the sheriff’s department also arrested Arisceline C. Fowler, 58, Glenwood. This past March, the sheriff’s department arrested eight people on Fowler’s property in Glenwood - two of those eight people were charged with operate or attempt to operate a clandestine drug lab. Fowler wasn’t home at the time of the bust and a warrant was issued for her arrest. She has been charged with operate or attempt to operate a clandestine drug lab.
As of press time, Fowler remains in the Western Regional Jail with a bond of $150,000 set in Mason County Magistrate Court.
