September ‘Yard of the Month’ winners named

POINT PLEASANT — As the summer season comes to a close, so does the season of blossoming flowers and plants, but not before naming one more group of winners for the “Yard of the Month” and the ‘Business in Bloom” for the month of September.

Winning “Yard of the Month” in ward one was Richard Purchase at 120 Highland Avenue. Winning in ward two was Lolita Bennett at 205 8th Street. Winning in ward three was Bernadine Kayser at 2011 Mt Vernon Avenue. Winning in ward four was Kenneth and Marilyn Pridemore at 2014 Mt Vernon Avenue. Winning in ward five was Homer Preece at 2615 Mt Vernon Avenue. Winning in ward six was Carl and Becky McFall at 121 Pleasant Street. Winning in ward seven was Doris Wamsley at 820 30th Street. Winning in ward eight was Carolyn Parsons at 2811 Maple Avenue. Winning “Business in Bloom” was Chef House at 1210 Viand Street.

As with the previous “Yard of the Month” winners, the winners for September were also entered into a drawing, resulting in one winner who received a $25 gift certificate to Bob’s Market from the Tu-Endie-Wei Garden Club. The winner of the gift certificate for the month of September was Doris Wamsley from ward seven.

It was reported the judging for the month of September was the last “Yard of the Month” judging for 2012.
