MASON — Bend area residents, be prepared for a musical journey back to the days of John, Paul, George, and Ringo and continuing to the present day.

Once again, it’s time for the Wahama Junior/Senior High School annual dinner theater, with the theme of this year’s show being “British Invasion.” Under the direction of Rachel Reynolds, 96 students will be performing in the style of a variety of Brits.

Reynolds said the order of the show will be a time-line, beginning with an opening number featuring numerous tunes from the Beatles, including “Hello, Goodbye,” “With a Little Help from My Friends,” “Penny Lane,” “Ticket to Ride,” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”

Other music featured from throughout the years will include selections from The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Cat Stevens, Eric Clapton, Culture Club, and Mumford and Sons.

Although the dinner theater has been an annual tradition for many years at Wahama, this year is Reynolds’ first which she described as crazy and sleepless, a feeling that comes with any theatrical production that is well worth the effort in the end.

“You will not be disappointed if you come out and see it,” Reynolds said about the show. She said it’s exciting from the first song and is non-stop through to the finale.

Performances this weekend will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 15-17. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with the show starting at 7 p.m. On Sunday, dinner will be served at 1 p.m., with the show beginning at 2 p.m.

Tickets for dinner and the show will be $13 for adults, and $10 for children and seniors. Tickets for the show only will be $10. Tickets are available at the door or in the school’s office.

In addition to the public performances, the dinner theater will also be presented to New Haven Elementary students and Wahama students.
