POINT PLEASANT —The community is gearing up to attend one of the biggest events of the year - the Mason County Relay for Life.

The free event starts at 6 p.m., this Saturday, June 16 at the Point Pleasant High School Athletic Complex.

There will be food, entertainment, the Survivors and Caregivers Lap, team recognition, the lighting of luminaries and a major auction to raise money in the fight against cancer.

The auction starts at 7:30 pm and not only is the auction open to everyone, but all the events of the Relay. Some of the items up for grabs are two Cincinnati Reds game tickets with a one night stay in the Hampton Inn in Covington, Ky. on July 17-18. There are also NFL Football tickets for the Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles on Aug. 24 at the Cleveland Browns Stadium while sitting in the “Dawg” pound, watching a team with former Marshall University Star Vinnie Curry on board.

Also up for grabs, what is described as a beautiful household basket with a tea cup set, cupcake molds, candle and Pandora-style bracelet; Longaberger ice cream cone dishes with ice cream serving tray; Longaberger wrought iron Christmas tree candle holder and pottery dishes; P.Buckley Moss Limited Edition Print; Gift Card Basket filled with over 10 different gift cards; a Girl Gift Basket; a Sweet Treats Basket with Longaberger and Tastefully simple items; Think Pink Set; a purse; Scentsy burners and tarts; Time Marches On wall clocks; a You Light Up My life Candle set and a Longaberger Pink measuring cup, baking dish and muffin mix.
