MINFORD — After 12 complete innings, 72 outs and a combined 91 at-bats, both Eastern and Fairfield still have some unfinished business in their Division IV district semifinal softball game at Minford High School.

The contest Thursday night was postponed due to darkness at the completion of the 12th inning, with both teams still looking to break a scoreless tie.

This game will resume in the top of the 13th Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Lady Eagles coming to the plate.

Over the first dozen frames, the Lady Eagles have pounded out seven hits — in comparison to only three by the Lady Lions.

EHS, however, has also stranded 11 runners on base, compared to eight left stranded by the hosts.

FHS has also committed three errors in the contest, one more than the Lady Eagles’ total of two.

Eastern starter Kasey Turley has allowed only three hits and three walks over a dozen frames of work, striking out nine in the process.

Brenna Holter currently leads EHS with two hits, followed by Turley, Brooke Johnson, Hayley Gillian, Sami Cummins and Megan Carnahan with one apiece.

The semifinal winner on Saturday will play top-seeded Green in the district championship at 3 p.m. at Minford High School.
