I was reading about the Halftime Sports Bar and Grill article. It seems to me that this isn’t a successful business. I’ve heard more than one time, about Halftime refusing to pay their employees. Even at that, who can afford the high prices?
People can barely afford to put food on the table. Even if it was a decent place, nobody would patronize it. I might be only 22, but for as long as I can remember, nobody seems to patronize local business in Point Pleasant.
When this establishment was Bennigans, it wasn’t even that great to begin with. Rude service, high prices and nobody would patronize them. I don’t blame them for that. I watched a few ball games there, couldn’t get waited on, or even get something decent to eat for under fifteen dollars.
I’m not only talking about Bennigan’s or Halftime. Whatever is keeping small business out of this town, is really hurting everyone. Bad economy or not, nothing seems to succeed here, except businesses that have been around awhile. Most people will run to Gallipolis or Huntington and support them.
What puzzles me the most, is that how do you expect to have a local economy, when you won’t support the local businesses?
