Dear Editor,
We are always hearing about the “foot soldiers,” “people in the trenches.” We have been privileged to see them in action!
They are not military. They are the technicians or as they are better known, the aids, and the nurses, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Home.
These young men and women, who work tirelessly to take care of the elderly and infirmed patients, deserve to be given a very big Mason County applause.
They move from one incident to another, arriving at the sound of the bell or the blinking of lights, outside the patients’ rooms.
Maybe the patient needs to get out of bed and into a wheelchair just to patrol the hallways. Maybe a patient is in dire need of a coffee, milk, or just wants someone to give them a hug.
It does not matter the reason, these fine young men and women give the patient a big smile and go about doing whatever is necessary to please the patient.
