Wavie E. Oliver, 90, of Grove City, OH, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at Monterey Care Center in Grove City.

She was a homemaker, member of Hickory Chapel Church in Point Pleasant, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Wavie was born March 24, 1919 in Point Pleasant; a daughter of the late Earley H. McKinney and Virgie F. (Sayre) McKinney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Oliver; two sisters, Irene Cheesebrew and Clara Belle Humphrey; and two great grandchildren, Seward Devol and Venessa Spencer.

Surviving are her daughter, Guelda Sue Johnson of Hopewell, OH; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Spencer of Zanesville, OH, Timothy (Monwella) Spencer of Augburg, Germany, Kathleen Abbot of Hopewell, OH, and David Lee Johnson of Hopewell, OH; nine great grandchildren, Stepanie Spencer, Alexandera Spencer, Jennifer, Spencer, Tasha Spencer, Jeffrey Spencer Jr, Waneta Devol, Danny Devol, John Devol, and Heather Green; and a nephew, Bill (B.J.) Cheesebrew of Frankfort, OH.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. Burial will follow in the Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
