CHILLICOTHE — Phil Bokovitz won a title in the heavyweight division, but Gallia Academy finished dead last at the seven-team Southeastern Ohio Athletic League Wrestling Championships this past Saturday at Chillicothe High School.
The Blue Devils, with a team score of 66 points, finished four points back of the host Cavaliers for sixth place.
Bokovitz — the lone GAHS champion — finished the day with a perfect 3-0 record, including a pair of wins by pinfall.
Two other Gallia Academy grapplers, Kyle Bays and Jared Gravely, placed third in the respective divisions of 125-pounds and 189-pounds. Both Bays and Gravely finished the day with 2-1 overall marks.
Kruise Wandling and Robert Daniels each finished fourth for the Blue and White. Wandling was fourth in the 140-division, while Daniels made the top-four in the 215 weight class.
Warren, which crowned a best four SEOAL champions, won the team event with a score of 160 points.
Athens was runner-up with 130.5 points, followed by Logan with 121.5 points and Marietta with 102.5 points. Jackson rounded out the top-five with 97.5 points.
Every school represented had at least one SEOAL champion by weight class. Jackson was after Warren with three champions, followed by Marietta and Athens with two apiece.
Like the Blue Devils, Chillicothe and Logan also had one winner each.
Ironton, Portsmouth and Zanesville did not participate in the event.
