POINT PLEASANT — The recent community Turkey Bowl was quite a ‘strike’ with 12 teams competing for the chance to win trophies and support a great cause at the same time.
WBYG Big Country 99.5 was in charge of the event that raised nearly $600 for the local food pantry’s. It was held at Skyline Lanes in Kanuaga, Ohio. Their employees enjoyed working with the radio station to help support a much needed cause.
“This was such a great event,” Shari Cochran, station manager said. “Everyone was eager to help out their community while having a good time.”
Cochran and her team of radio station employees were one of the 12 teams. Other teams included the ‘Queen Team’ made up of local title holders, the Point Pleasant Register employees, and other local businesses.
Taking home top honors was the team from Supresta. Second place went to the McDonald’s team and the third place trophy was won by Ohio Valley Track Works. Gail Roush and her team came in last place and was presented with the Giblet Award plaque.
Cochran said that everyone who participated is already looking forward to next year’s bowl.
