Sixteen vying for Peoples Bank Fair Scholarship Award

POINT PLEASANT — Sixteen 2009 Mason County high school graduates are competing for the 2009 Peoples Bank Fair Scholarship Award which will be presented during the Mason County Fair.

Since its inception in 1965, the scholarship totals more than $97,000 and has benefited a total of 118 Mason County students.

Hannan High School applicants are Travis Bowman, son of Terry and Brenda Bowman of Ashton; Christopher Gue, son of Lloyd Gue of Burlington, Ohio and Shirley Gue of Ashton; Kalah Perry, daughter of Timothy and Angela Perry of Milton; Gina Redmond, daughter of Roger Redmond of Milton; and Jared Taylor, son of Keith and Tammy Taylor of Fraziers Bottom.

Point Pleasant Senior High applicants are Jamie Bush, daughter of James and Donna Bush of Gallipolis Ferry; Katelynn Harmon, daughter of Charles and Vickie Harmon of Henderson; Amber Landfried, daughter of John and Yvonne Robinson of Gallipolis Ferry; Olivia Napora, daughter of Bo and Kim Napora of Point Pleasant; Harrison Roach, son of Tony and Diana Roach of Gallipolis Ferry; Katelyn Wilson, daughter of Jim and Gail Wilson of Point Pleasant; and Hannah Workman, daughter of Doug and Vickie Workman of Point Pleasant.

Wahama High School applicants are Chelsea Fowler, daughter of Jeff and Tina Flower of Mason; Raelynn Grimm, daughter of Tony and Cindy Grimm of Letart; Maria Keathley, daughter of Carl and Margaret Keathly of Letart; and Tiffany Sleeth, daughter of Tim and Thressa Sleeth of Letart.

A reception to honor the applicants will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 6 at the Point Pleasant Moose Lodge.
