POINT PLEASANT — This football season has certainly been exciting for two area schools, Point Pleasant High School and Wahama High School.
Both schools are headed to the West Virginia state football playoffs this week, and because of this Mason County Schools Superintendent Dr. William Capehart has arranged for early dismissal of students on Friday.
According to Capehart, the early dismissal is needed to coordinate bus schedules.
“This is necessary in order to meet the responsibilities of assuring students are home in order for the buses and bus operators to meet the need of being able to leave for the playoff sites in Keyser, W.Va., and Summersville, W.Va.,” Capehart said.
School will be dismissed three hours earlier than normal on Friday to accommodate all parties involved. Teachers and other school staff members who are not directly involved in the playoffs will follow their normal Friday afternoon school work schedule.
