It seems that nearly every day there is a new law being passed to take away our freedom and socialize our country. The average American seems to accept the fact that our elected officials are on a steam-roll to shredding our Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights.
Does anyone remember that America is the land of the free and brave? So many have died for the rights we are letting them trample on. Wake up, America! The American people deserve better from their elected representatives, and are beginning to demand it.
On July 4, there will be a special celebration at noon to 1:30 p.m. for Parkersburg’s Independence Day Freedom/Tea Rally at Bicentennial Park, next to the City Building on Market Street. We will be under the Farmer’s Market Canopy, same as the Tea Party in April. This event is non-partisan and funded by local donations from concerned citizens.
Make a tasteful and family safe sign, or bring a flag to wave and stand or sit with local concerned citizens. There will be speakers, music, and information. This event is open to all concerned citizens.
To help out or volunteer, go to www.wvtea.org or call Sandy Staats, organizer, at (304) 424-6127.
