The pageant was a huge success for Mothman Festival Pageant Director Delyssa Huffman. A total of 79 contestants came from all across West Virginia and parts of Ohio, Kentucky and Maryland to compete.

“All the contestants said they had a wonderful time. Even the little girls who were crowned Miss Mothman Festival Princesses Saturday morning took part in walking around the festival with their tiara’s and sashes,” Huffman said. All participants in Saturday’s pageant were awarded the Princess titles.

The 2009 Mothman Festival Royalty enjoyed reigning over the 8th Annual Mothman Festival. They participated in greeting those who traveled from all over to attend the festival and even took time to take pictures with tourists. The ladies also got to take the haunted hayride tour in the TNT area.

“Without our wonderful sponsors, the town of Point Pleasant and all those behind-the-scenes workers, the Miss Mothman Festival Pageant wouldn’t nearly be as successful as it is. I really appreciate everyone who has extended a helping hand to me and the pageant for the past two years,” Huffman said.
