POINT PLEASANT — After a almost three month of summer vacation, students are busy preparing for the upcoming school year.
And Wednesday, Aug. 26 marks the first official day of school for students in Mason County.
Upon request of the area schools, information regarding class lists can be obtained by calling your child’s prospective school.
• Parents of Point Pleasant Intermediate School students, please call 304-675-1430.
• Parents of Point Pleasant Primary School students, please call 304-675-1420. Also, class lists will be posted on the entrance doors of the primary school prior to Wednesday, Aug. 26.
• Parents of Roosevelt Elementary School students, please call 304-675-3337.
• Parents of Ashton Elementary School students, please call 304-576-9931. According to Ashton Elementary School representatives, students who attended Ashton for the 2008-2009 school year also should have received notification of which class they will be in this year with their report cards, which were sent after school was out.
• Representatives of New Haven Elementary School were unable to be reached as of press time. For more information, call the school at 304-882-2037 or 304-882-2025.
As for students of Leon Elementary School, there is only one teacher per grade. For more information, call the school at 304-458-1710. Students attending Beale Elementary School will start school on Monday, Aug. 31 due to on-going construction at the school.
Sept. 1 and 2 marks the first day of kindergarten in Mason County. According to the Mason County Board of Education office, parents will be notified by teachers regarding classes. Preschool in Mason County begins Sept. 3.
