James “Jimmy” Rogers, 53, of Point Pleasant, died August 17, 2012, in Pleasant Valley Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born February 13, 1959, in Gallia County, Ohio, a son to the late William and Mary Wilson Rogers. He had worked at many different jobs and attended Willing Heart Church, Point Pleasant.

He is survived by his special friend, Marlene Hurt; son, Richard Hurt of Point Pleasant; brothers, Mike and his wife, Valarie Rogers and Tommy Rogers of Point Pleasant; one sister, Renee and her husband, Donnie Minor of Beckley; grandchildren, Aaliuah, Braydon and Ciara Hurt; nieces and nephews, Michael, Nicholas and T.R. Rogers and Emeraled and Ebony Minor; his friend Maggie the dog and Rocky his cat and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Deal Funeral Home, with Minister Billy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery, Point Pleasant. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012, at the funeral home.
