Deputies arrest pair in drug bust

ASHTON — Mason County sheriff’s deputies have arrested two people in connection with a drug investigation.

According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Katrina S. Cooper and Tony Lee Sturgeon were arrested Tuesday following a bust at a residence located on 18 Mile Creek Road in Ashton. Deputies discovered a stash of illegal narcotics inside the home, including marijuana, meth and Oxycontin. Deputies also seized more than $3,000 in cash that was found in the home.

Cooper, 59, and Sturgeon, 51, were taken to the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville. According to the jail’s Web site, Sturgeon is still incarcerated.

Cooper is still on the general inmate roster, but information regarding her current status was listed as being incomplete.
